If that’s you then you’ll love this role
We’re a travel company that is all about providing the best and most awesome experiences for our trekking community. We specialise in high altitude trekking adventures, taking our EverTrekkers to Everest Base Camp in the Himalayas, the summit of Kilimanjaro and to many other epic destinations around the world.
We are a fast-growing company, currently expanding our services and launching new trips around the world, therefore we are now looking for a new team member to join us at our UK based office at EverTrek HQ.
You’ll be working at our friendly EverTrek office in Caerphilly, South Wales, which is where all the magic happens. The core of the role will be supporting our ever-growing customer base by answering questions on all things trek related by email, phone and social media. We make great use of video messaging for that personal touch and pride ourselves on our speed of response and quality of information.
At times its high volume, high energy especially when we run sales campaigns but we’re also looking for someone who can assist on projects and bring their own knowledge and experience to help us improve processes to create the best possible EverTrekker customer experience.
Skills in administration & customer service are important but so is your positive attitude, initiative and motivation.
So what’s it like at EverTrek?
We work in an ever-changing entrepreneurial environment and we are continually challenging each other and coming up with great ideas. It’s demanding but hugely rewarding as we continue to grow. The EverTrek team is committed to providing continual training, coaching and support to help you develop your skills and confidence. As well as working in a relaxed environment with a friendly team of Yetis. Our Head Yeti Andy, who founded the company says that it's 'All about the Journey'. So much so that it's on a bright blue Neon sign as you walk into the office. This is true on the trips we run, where our EverTrekkers have an epic time not just on the summit but along the entire journey. This is also the way we like to do things here in our EverTrek office as it's super important to enjoy our working 'Journey' too.
Perks of the job!
- Four day working week during quieter periods of business
- Very competitive starting salary (£22K + bonuses)
- Up to 30 days paid holiday a year plus bank holidays
- Travel to amazing destinations to experience our treks and trips
- Access to a UK pension scheme
- Cycle to Work Scheme
- You get yourself a unique Yeti name
- Local gym membership
- That awesome feeling when you know you are making a huge difference to people's lives by helping them achieve lifelong goals.
Now for the nitty-gritty stuff…
EverTrek is no different to any other successful business, well actually we are - we’re a lot more fun! The work carried out by Yetis in our UK office is the backbone of the company and predominantly involves administration & providing amazing customer service. This position is primarily office based, therefore you need to be proficient in the following areas:
Good communication skills with a passion for providing excellent customer service - our top priority is providing world class customer service, this means prioritising incoming workload, juggling social media messages, phone calls and emails and working within our agreed company SLA’s.
Technically competent - You’ll know your way around a PC, be familiar using social media such as Facebook and Instagram, and be quick to pick up new systems, software and technology. You will manage customer enquiries via email and phone, update systems and will have experience in using Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) etc.
An excellent problem solver - You will be able to work on projects, solve problems, and work unsupervised to meet deadlines. We live by the value of ‘making things happen’ and this has significantly contributed to the growth of the company as a market leader.
Friendly and motivated - We value world class customer service over everything else. You will be motivated to keep our EverTrekkers happy and have great communication skills & a friendly attitude, Whether that’s taking calls from our customers, replying to an email by video or attending exhibitions & travel shows - it’s a diverse & dynamic customer facing role.
Into the outdoors - You’ll know your way around a mountain or two. You don’t need to be Sir Edmund Hillary, but the right candidate will have a keen interest in the outdoors and a love of trekking. Our customers are constantly seeking advice on trekking and as part of your role you'll be a go-to Adventure Expert. As well as enjoying trekking, you will need to be willing to learn about equipment, destinations and general trekking information. We certainly don't expect you to know everything, but your enthusiasm for the outdoors will go a long way to engaging our customers.
Adaptable - You’ll be happy to adapt & change your day-to-day work requirements depending on the needs of the business; whether that be prioritising customer enquiries, creating content, updating systems information or even hosting a training weekend in Wales/Scotland.
The availability to work occasional weekends & travel abroad: Our Training Weekends run Friday - Sunday, therefore you will have to be willing to work some weekends. (We say ‘work’, you’ll be hiking around Brecon or Scotland with Yetis & a group of customers, enjoying a free B&B and numerous pub stops - not the worst weekend in the world!) We also attend some festivals and events as exhibitors, think branded stand, goody bags and LOTS of chatting with potential customers, again these are weekend events and there will be a requirement to attend as an EverTrek rep, alongside the rest of the team, we never leave a Yeti standing alone!
You will be required to hold a full UK driver's licence due to the remote locations of our training weekends. You will also need to be happy to travel abroad as the business requires to test new trips, building our relationships with suppliers and increasing your knowledge and experience to better support our customers.
If all of this is something that has shocked you into a frenzy of excitement, then show us what you are made of and apply here or via the big button below
We’d also love to see YOU so as well as completing the application form you'll be asked on the form to send us a video telling us why you think you'd be a great fit for the EverTrek Team. Show us what kind of Yeti you are!
The closing date for all applications is 22nd April 2022 so get yours in if you want to join the team. We may close this sooner if we receive enough suitable applications so get make sure you get in as speedily as you can!
