All about the Mt Kailash Tour.

Mt. Kailash is regarded in many sects of Hinduism & Buddhists as paradise, the ultimate destination of souls and the spiritual center of the world. It is also the Historical and religious belief that Mount Kailash is the residence of the Lord Shiva. It lies in the Western part of Tibet at an elevation of 22,028 feet (6,714 m).

Made of black Rock, the symmetrical peak has a distinctive diamond like shape with four steep facades. According to one description in the Vishnu Purana , Mount Kailash is the centre world, its four faces are made of crystal , ruby,gold, and lapis lazuli, that is why the peak is restricted for the climb. It is one of the three pilgrimage sites in the area, collectively known as Kangri Tsosum, Ponri Ngaden and lake Mansarovers.

  1. Day 1 Arrival day (1300m/4264ft)

    After your arrivals in the Kathmandu tribhuvan international airport you will be greeted by representatives from Bucket List. You will be transferred to hotel by our representatives. After take you into the hotel and rest for while you will be introducing with your guide and he will help you for preparation of trekking materials. In the evening you will go for welcome dinner with our team and enjoy dinner in Nepalese cultural music and dance.

  2. Day 2 Kathmandu Sightseeing and Trek Preparation

    Today after breakfast, proceed for our city tour to visit Bouddha stupa, Pashupatinath temple, Swyambhunath Stupa (Monkey temple), Kathmandu Durbar square include which are the main tourists interested things. After city tour  has finished we meet again to check your equipment, Visa, Permits and Tickets which are required for the tour in Tibet. In the mean time we can chat about the upcoming trip. Stay overnight in Kathmandu.

  3. Day 3 Drive to Nylam ( 3750m/12,303ft)

    After breakfast we leave Kathmandu to Nyalam. We reach Friendship Bridge, Nepal – China Boarder by mini-coach. Walk across the bridge which normally takes us 10 minutes to cross the bridge and there get acquainted with the Chinese guidse and land cruiser drivers. They will give a us some brief information regarding the trip. We will then proceed to Zangmu, where all the immigration and custom formalities are completed. We then proceed to Nyalam. Arrival at Nyalam and overnight stay at a local guesthouse.

  4. Day 4 Rest Day at Nylam ( 3750m/12,303ft)

    It is a day for acclimatisation. Rest day at Nyalam and explore opportunity and for some local sightseeing. Over night at Guest House.

  5. Day 5 Nyalam to Saga (4500m/14,763ft)

    We aim to get up early and check gather our equipment. After breakfast we drive to Saga. You will enjoy the grand view of Mt. Shishapangma (8,021m), Gauri Shankar and other high mountains from Thukla Pass (5050m) another attraction will be a sacred lake Pigusto. Overnight lodge in Saga.

  6. Day 6 Saga To Prayang (4600m/15,091ft)

    We will journey on as we follow the wide valley following rivers and grazing land of yaks and sheep. Far south you can see snow covered peaks, numerous rocky peaks and sand dunes. Depending on the time of year, nomads and other mobile shopkeepers are dressed in beautiful traditional costume, waiting for your arrival with hot tea and other supplies along with big smile.

  7. Day 7 Prayang to Lake Manosarovar (4558m15,052ft)

    The longest drive of the trip day starts with full of excitement because we are going to see Lake Manasarovar .It is very auspicious day for all travellers who will have first their glimpse of Holy Manasarovar and Darshan of Mt. Kailash from Horrchu Pass. The region is considered rich in gold and other minerals, hot springs and hundreds of wild fauna. Overnight stay Camp/Lodge at the shore of Lake Mansarovar.

  8. Day 8 Lake Manosarovar to Darchen (14975ft)

    Today we drive to Darchen which is around 30km from Lake Manosarovar situated at a height of 4560m. During the afternoon we head to Asthaparbat darshan, one of the most spectacular views in the area. Overnight stay Guest house.

  9. Day 9 Darchen to Mt. Kailash

    We will hike for around about 18 km to reach Diraphuk from Darchen which is situated at a height of 4890m.  After resting we will then head to the Parikrama /Kora. Again we walk another 10 km to go Tarboche. The hike will be for around 5 to 6 hours. Overnight stay at Camping/Guest house.

  10. Day 10 Mt. Kailash and explore the area

    It is the most difficult walk and drive  on the trip. We trek to Zuthulphuk (4790m) for around 22km. In total the walk takes around 08 / 10 hours – Parikarma continues, this is the day every pilgrim talks about, the most difficult journey through out the journey, Trek up to Dolma La pass(5600m). We will offer prayers at Dolmala and move towards Gaurikunda. We then head to Zuthulphuk for an over night stay at camping / Guest house.

  11. Day 11 Mt. Kailash to Manasarovara

    After Walking for around 3 hours, all the driving crew will be waiting your arrival. By the late afternoon you will be at your lodge/camp.

  12. Day 12 Manasarovara to Saga (460km) 8-9 hrs Drive

  13. Day 13 Saga To Nylam or Zang Mu: (296km) 6-7 hr drive

Accommodation in Kathmandu is at the Apsara Boutique Hotel. This friendly and very spacious hotel lies in the center of trekking city aka Thamel! There is a relaxing spa attached to the hotel to unwind and relax and is perfect for a post trek massage

Along the trek you will stay in comfortable lodges and Tea houses. These do change depending on the time of year you visit but all are on a twin sharing basis unless stated.
