Clothing & Footwear for the K2 Base Camp Trek
When it comes to clothing, layering is your best friend. Think of yourself as a trekking onion—lots of layers to peel off or add on as the temperature changes. Here's the lowdown:

- Moisture-wicking long-sleeve t-shirts (2): These bad boys keep you dry and warm.
- Moisture-wicking short-sleeve t-shirts (2): Perfect for when you’re heating up.
- T-Shirts (3): Basic but essential.
- Heavy down jacket: Because frostbite is not a souvenir you want.
- Gore Tex or waterproof jacket with hood: For when the weather decides to be extra.
- Rain poncho: Trust me, you’ll thank me when it pours and it’s less faff if you don’t have time to get out your coat.
- Fleece trousers: Cozy and warm for those chilly nights.

- Hiking shorts (1): For the warmer days.
- Waterproof trousers: Keeps the rain where it belongs—outside.
- Hiking socks (3) and warm thermal socks (2): Happy feet, happy trekker.
- Long Johns (2): Layer up!
- Underwear (3): Let’s keep it fresh.
- Trainers or sandals: For lounging around the camp.
- Insulated wool or down mittens/gloves: Warm hands are happy hands.
- Sunglasses: Protect those peepers.
- Broad-brimmed hat: Sun protection is a must.

- Waterproof cover for daypack: Keep your gear dry
- Water bottles or hydration bladder: Stay hydrated, folks.
- Water purification tablets or filter: Because mountain streams aren’t always pristine.
- Sleeping bag rated to -18°C/0°F: Snuggle up and stay warm.
- Sleeping bag stuff sack: Compress that bag.

- Snacks (combine protein & carbs for well-balanced energy): Think nuts, dried fruit, energy bars. Try out CLIF for energy bars/chews
- Thermos (optional for hot beverages): Hot tea on a cold day? Yes, please.
- Re-hydration gels or powder: Keep those electrolytes up.
Essential Toiletries and First Aid for the K2 Base Camp Trek
- Sunscreen: Sunburn at altitude is no joke.
- Lip balm with sunscreen: Chapped lips, begone!
- Toilet Paper: Always.
- Medical tape, and/or duct tape for treating/preventing blisters: Your feet will thank you.
- Painkillers: For those aches and pains.

- Personal prescriptions: Don’t forget these!
- Antibiotics (for traveler’s diarrhea): Just in case.
- Nappy rash cream (to treat chafing): Multi-use wonder.

- Razor (as needed): Stay sharp.

- Feminine hygiene products (as needed): Be prepared.

- Hair ties: Keep it together.
- Earplugs/earphones (for sleeping): Block out those snorers.

Crucial Documents for the K2 Base Camp Trek
