Water Filter on Treks - 1st in the UK
We therefore introduced purified water filters on ALL OF OUR NEPAL TREKS back in March 2019 meaning no more plastic and no more disgusting chlorinated water. We were the first high altitude trekking company to introduce this onto all of our Nepal treks. In the first season that we introduced the water filters system, we worked out that just by making this simple change we saved 16,500 1ltr plastic bottles from being used in the Everest region. In just one season! We added these all together and worked out that if you stacked these on top of one another, it's the equivalent height of five Ben Nevis mountains on top of one another!
We are not perfect by any means and there is still a lot to do with reducing our plastic use but as I heard it recently, 'doing something, is better than doing nothing' and we continue to look at ways to reduce our environmental impact.
Tree planting around the world
We partnered up with Mossy Earth at the start of 2020. Mossy Earth are committed to preserving our natural world - restoring wild ecosystems, supporting wildlife and biodiversity in order to help fight climate change. Mossy Earth work on some awesome rewilding projects and planting native trees in the UK and across Europe.
For every customer who makes a booking through the EverTrek website, Mossy Earth plant a tree. This means that by going onto a trek with us, you are making an impact through Carbon Offsetting and restoring lost wilderness in the UK & Europe.
Brecon Mountain Rescue
In 2022, the Yetis embarked on a guelling Ice Water Dunk in the River Taff raising over £1000!
Keep an eye out EverTrek's Annual Yeti Yuletide Challenge to see what weird and wild challenge the team will be taking on next!
