Itinerary

Welcome to Kathmandu – the capital city of Nepal.

Today is your first day with EverTrek. You will be greeted by one of our company representatives at Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) as they pick you up and transport you to your hotel. Today, you will have a chance to rest and relax after your journey to Nepal, and may also have the opportunity to meet some of the team and discuss some details of your upcoming trek.

You will enjoy a group meal with your fellow trekkers. You'll be taken to one of the most popular local restaurants where you can enjoy Nepali food along with cultural music and ethnic dance.

Today you will head out into Kathmandu and visit the cultural and historical sites of the Kathmandu Valley. You will visit the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu and enjoy lunch at one of our favourite viewpoints in the city. Kathmandu lies at 1300m above sea level so it’s important to get out and about today and let your body acclimatise.

Today also gives you the opportunity to grab any last-minute items in the trekking hub of Thamel and get an early night ready for the trek tomorrow.

Buckle up for a 200km journey from Kathmandu to Pokhara that normally takes about 6-7 hours. This scenic ride is like flipping through Nepal's landscape album – each page revealing a new picture-perfect view. Once you've reached Pokhara, where you'll be spending 2 nights, it's time to explore the lakeside town. You could grab a cup of the local tea or walk around the lake before the sun sets and you get ready for tomorrows adventures.

We kickstart our adventure with a relaxed 90-minute drive to Nayapul, soaking in the beauty of the Modi Khola Valley. From there, we hop onto a local vehicle, cruising through to Syauli Bazaar. And that's just the beginning!

Our epic trek unfolds amidst mind-blowing panoramas, as we wander past terraced fields with the magnificent Himalayan giants looming above. After crossing flatlands, forests, cultivated plots, and an exciting suspension bridge over KhumnuKhola, we hit the jackpot – Ghandruk village. It's like stepping into a postcard, offering up-close views of Annapurna South, Gangapurna, Annapurna III, Machhapuchhre, and Hiunchuli.

Leaving Ghandruk behind, we journey through the local forests as we climb up and up before reaching Salaphu hill and then towards the enchanting Chhomrong village. Nestled on the crest of a hill with the colossal Annapurna massif as the backdrop this an awesome spot. This famed Gurung village now has epic views of Annapurna South face as well as the world-famous Machhapuchhre Mountain (affectionately known as Fishtail Mountain).

The trek continues downward and up again on the classic 'Nepali Flat' nature of these trails through lush rhododendron forests passing scenic mountain streams whilst we press on for a few hours before reaching the realm of Tadapani, standing tall at 2540 meters above sea level. Here, there's another epic breath-taking view of the mighty Annapurna South.

Enjoy some time in Tadapani and explore the local village before relaxing for the evening.

This is it! The summit of Poon Hill. Today's adventure is the highlight of the trek. You'll get up nice and early and climb Poonhill (at 3210m) for a sunrise view(Fingers crossed) that's one of the best viewpoints on the planet.

It's a steady hour-long climb before you reach the summit of Poonhill but take a breath and enjoy the amazing views of the giant Annapurna Massif that rises up before your very eyes. Once we enjoy the sunrise we'll drop down and grab some breakfast before we navigate some steep pathways back down to the valley floor through a rhododendron forest, making our way to Deorali (3100m) and then after a 3-hour trek, we finally arrive at Ghorepani. Here, there's some nice accommodation as the village is a lot larger than some that you've stayed in recently so we'll spend a nice evening here chatting about the summit of Poonhill and a job well done!

Aa you get up to enjoy the views once again, you'll see that Poon Hill overlooks Ghorepani at an altitude of 3210m and you can see the trail that you would have trekked on yesterday. An hour-long pre-dawn ascent gives us the opportunity to see the awesome views of the Annapurnas and Dhaulagiri glowing in the morning sun. After breakfast, we begin the long descent through magnificent oak and rhododendron forests. From the village of Ulleri, a long steep stone staircase seems to go on forever before eventually reaching Hille. From this point, your trekking is done and dusted and we'll grab another transfer back to Pokhara for another evening in this awesome lakeside town.

We'll be leaving the beautiful town of Pokhara and the Annapurna region behind as we journey back by plane to the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu. Once we get back, you'll have some free time to enjoy your time in Kathmandu and grab a well-deserved beverage and some souvenirs before your journey home tomorrow.

Today is the last day of your trip in Nepal with EverTrek. If your flight is scheduled early morning, then one of our company representatives will escort you to the airport as per your flight departure time. If your flight is scheduled for later in the evening, you can go shopping and collect a few mementos or simply hang around the shopping areas in Kathmandu.

If you have booked your flights with a spare day or two and have requested we arrange your additional accommodation for you, then you will be able to remain at the hotel until your day of departure and still benefit from the airport transfers. Alternatively if you have booked an additional trip add-on, such as Chitwan National Safari, it is on this day that you will travel to the park.
