What’s the baggage allowance on the Everest Base Camp trek

What's the baggage allowance on the Everest Base Camp trek?

On the flights from Kathmandu to Lukla, the weight limit is 15kg per person on the airlines we use, it's Tara Airline, Yeti Airlines. You can take more than this if you want to as we do get some customers who bring some video or photography equipment which isn't light. Obviously not the kitchen sink but if you do go over the 15 kg limit it's quite cheap to take it on the flight. It's less than £1 per kg in excess baggage costs so more than affordable. Some people on the trek take between 20 to 25 kg's and our porters are able to carry that amount if needed.

If you feel like you're getting constricted by the weight I wouldn't worry too much about that as you can just pay this at the airport when we check in for the internal flight.

Don't forget, if you're coming on a trek with us, you can use one of our 80 ltr EverTrek duffel bags on the trek. This enables you to potentially leave some items at the hotel in the secure baggage room. Things that you don't necessarily need on the trek you can store them there and save you some weight on the trek.
