Best trekking boots for an Everest Base Camp Trek
There's nothing worse than having a bad pair of boots when you're on a multi day trek like an Everest Base Camp trek. I've seen many types of footwear used on the trails, no stilettos as of yet, but still, a wide variety of footwear. Some good and some pure blister makers! I've listed my top 5 recommended trekking boots and if you wear a pair of any of these, you won't go far wrong.
Our favourite boots are also perfect for most of our other trips too, not just Everest Base Camp. Whether you're planning on summiting Kilimanjaro, Annapurna or Machu Picchu - these are all great options for your trip.
#1 Meindl Bhutan MFS GTX
This is the favoured boot of the EverTrek Yetis, it comes with the tried and tested durability of a leather boot fantastic comfort. It has a memory foam ankle support and hardy & grippy Vibram soles that will last you a very long time. I’ve seen this boot multiple times on the Everest Base Camp trek and it fits in with the history of the Everest Region. This is definitely a premium boot but you won't go far wrong with this trekking boot.

Well, we had to squeeze La Sportiva into this article as it would be an absolute travesty not to. This brand and Everest go hand in hand in the mountaineering world and they also offer a superb trekking boot to get to Everest and back. Very warm with a stiff mid-Vibram sole, offering almost bombproof protection, you won't go far wrong with these but they are a premium option.

I came across these when seeing them on the trail to Everest Base Camp. They are certainly becoming more popular as a trekking boot. They have a high heel giving you confidence when walking on mixed terrain and protecting the ankle area. These are again Goretex so waterproof but also very breathable so your feet won't sweat too much. These are also mid stiffness so great for protecting your feet when on hard ground. Comfortable and sturdy. A serious contender for your trekking boot.

Once again, like the Salomon Quest boot, they have ankle support giving you plenty of confidence when trekking. They are extremely lightweight but perfect for a trek in Nepal. I wouldn’t recommend this boot for any crampon use or walking on the high passes but perfect for the classic Everest Base Camp trek.

I have used these on many different trekking trips in the UK and abroad. I really like the Mammut Trovat guide High trekking boots. They are very very durable and are almost bomb proof with a Vibram sole which means quality. These will last a very long time. These are heavier than most of the other boots but are also more versatile as you can wear C1 crampons on this boot for any time spent on glaciers and an entry level boot for a trekking peak like Island Peak.
