Gran Paradiso Trek: Ultimate Gear Guide
Welcome to your ultimate guide for gearing up for your epic adventure through one of the Alps' best-kept secrets: Gran Paradiso National Park. Get ready to explore rugged landscapes, high passes, lush meadows, and glacial trails all leading to the summit of Mt. Gran Paradiso, Italy's highest peak nestled entirely within its borders. But before we lace up our boots and hit the trails, let's talk gear. Let's dive in and get ready to conquer Gran Paradiso!
Lace up them Boots!
On the incredible Gran Paradiso, the terrain can be a mix of scrambly loose rock, snow, and crossing exposed sections on the mountain, so it's safe to say you'll be needing a trusty pair of trekking boots.
As the paths can be rocky and rugged, and the walks long, you'll want to make sure you have boots with decent ankle support.
For the higher sections that require a certain level of winter mountaineering, you will need to have a stiffer B2 boot, which can support crampon use.
Top tip: Wear your boots in beforehand, although in some places boots can be rented, you will be much more comfortable with your own pair!
